Over his 30-year information technology career, John has been CIO, Interim CIO, VP of IT Strategy, Director of IT, Project Manager and software developer. He has worked for industry-leading companies such as Cendant, Expedia, Worthington Industries, Sur La Table, Bank One (now Chase) and ADP. John as been CIO for Sur La Table, Trendwest Resorts, Quorum Review IRB, MeteorComm and SeaBright Inc. And he was VP of IT Strategy for Cendant’s $1.5B hospitality company. Also as part of Cendant, John helped lead M&A technology due diligence, the most prominent acquisition being Avis’ purchase of Budget Rent-a-Car in 2003. In 2005, John launched his consulting firm, GrowthWave.
Primarily through Interim CIOs, GrowthWave is focused on turning broken IT organizations into technology teams that help drive greater business growth and profitability. In 2010, John published his first book, Haunting the CEO, a leadership fable that helps CEOs and CIOs understand the leadership skills necessary for getting greater business results out of their IT organizations. John is known as much as a strong business leader as a technology leader. Throughout his career, regardless of industry or role, John has leveraged this unique combination to help companies realize greater business growth and profitability.
